Eat Street and much, much more
Newtown Village is set right in the heart of Sydney's famous 'Eat Street'.
Among the 600-plus shopfronts you'll find restaurants serving just about every cuisine imaginable, as well as alfresco cafes, specialist grocers, New York style delicatessens and fresh food purveyors to suit every culinary desire.
Importantly, despite the name, Eat Street offers much more than just food. You'll find everything from gymnasiums to massage parlours, beauticians, day spas, hairdressers, dentists, doctors and chemists.
Looking for some fun?
Newtown's got it, with plenty of pubs, theatres, clubs and comedy shows to keep you entertained. You may even get to see some street theatre, artists or mimes, on the way.
And then there's the Trocadero of 1889, the Hub, the lyric-sized Enmore Theatre and the Seymour Centre, which have hosted events of all sorts, including dance hall, vaudeville, boxing, cinema, comedy shows, and skating. Even a Rolling Stones concert!
All of this just on Eat Street? Imagine what the rest of Newtown has to offer...
